At the North Peninsula Recreation Service Area, we offer a wide variety of programs designed for individuals and families. From fitness classes to youth sports, our programs are tailored to promote physical activity, personal development and community involvement. Learn to Swim Group Session #1

Niksiki Youth Basketball 1st -2nd Grade Co-Ed
Season: January - March
Registration Begins: November
NPRSA’s 1st/2nd Grade basketball program is a co-ed league for students in 1st and 2nd grade only. Practices and games are held at the Nikiski Community Recreation Center.
Supersonic Ultraviolet Youth Volleyball

NPRSA’s youth volleyball program is a co-ed league for students in 4th through 6th grade. Practices and games are held at NCRC.
Youth Indoor Soccer

It's time to lace up those sneakers and get ready for indoor soccer at the Nikiski Community Recreation Cente! This program is perfect for kids from 4 years old through 5th grade, who want to learn the game, develop basic skills, and have fun!
Master Chef Jr. - Flavorful Meat Pies
Dates: April 5 & May 3

Join us for Master Chef, Jr. "Flavorful Meat Pies," where young chefs will dive into two beloved dishes: Chicken Pot Pie in April and Shepherd's Pie in May. Our goal is to equip your child with the skills to whip up a tasty meal. Top Notch Chef - Ooey Gooey Brownies

Calling all young bakers with a tastebud for sweets! Join us for an exciting hands-on cooking class focused on one of the most beloved treats: brownies. You'll learn to bake and enjoy delicious brownie varieties like: Brookies, Chocolate Cheesecake Brownies, and Oreo Brownies.
Adult Art Night

Join us the 4th Friday of the month at the Nikiski Recreation Center for various fine art classes. Each class will focus around a different type of medium, starting with watercolor painting in January, followed by pottery sculpting, acrylic, and tile painting, and fluid painting. Mini And Me "Animal Habitats"

Mini & Me, "Animal Habitats," is a fun, messy and interactive program that aims to strengthen the bond between parent and child. Each week will focus on one animal and their habitat, starting with majestic elephants, bouncy bears, pink flamingos and a sock wearing fox. Join us as we sing songs, read stories and make amazing crafts and snacks while learning all about these animals and their habitats.
Winter Fest

Join the North Peninsula Recreational Service Area January 18th from 1-5 at the Jason Peterson Memorial Rink for a magical snowy celebration of the season!
At WinterFest, adventurers can experience the thrill of our Scavenger hunt, As you snowshoe or ski through trails in our frosty wilderness, keep your eyes peeled for mysterious tracks and hidden clues that hint at the presence of our legendary creature.
Activities include; family skate, snow field games, scavenger hunt, alumni hockey game, bonfire, hot dogs and S'mores! Fun for all, so dress for the snow and ice, come on out for the WinterFest!
Easter EGGstravaganza

Hop Into Creativity at the Easter EGGstravaganza
Spring is in the air, and so is the excitement of our annual Easter Eggstavaganza! Join us for a festive celebration of artistry and craftsmanship on April 12th from 10 AM to 4 PM at the Nikiski Community Center.
Egg Scavanger Hunt: Hop on over to the Nikiski Community Recreation Center and Join us for a fun-filled Easter Egg Hunt with colorful eggs, exciting clues, and a special golden egg with a grand prize. There’s something for everyone—games, treats, and loads of family fun.
Interactive Craft Stations: Get creative at our hands-on craft stations where both kids and adults can make their own Easter-themed projects. Perfect for creating lasting memories together!
Delicious Treats: Savor mouthwatering delights from our food vendors, offering everything from gourmet snacks to sweet Easter goodies.
Special Appearance by the Easter Bunny and Friends: Meet and greet the Easter Bunny, who will be hopping around to spread cheer and joy! Capture the moment with a special photo opportunity. Don’t forget your camera to snap a memorable picture with everyone’s favorite springtime friend!
